Design Engineering Team

During my internship at Diesel Design & Solutions as a Design Engineer Intern, I engaged in a wide array of projects that spanned both in-house manufacturing and design.

This system is a sustainable, customizable, and modular acoustic dampening solution designed for large, noisy environments. It is made entirely from 100% recyclable materials. In collaboration with MDC Interior Solutions and Baresque, I ensured the design of the product was manufacturable in our Dallas-based facility. I worked directly with the metal shop for fabrication and powder coating alongside the product development team for choosing colors and printable patterns for the tiles.

I developed technical diagrams with SolidWorks and AutoCAD for both the manufacturing processes and installation guidelines, ensuring that installers have a clear understanding of system assembly and that all components are accurately accounted for. Lids HD Store Houston
Hat Wall Shelving

In collaboration with LIDS corporate design team, I helped engineer the hat shelving units for the LIDS “Hat Drop” store in Houston. This project involved creating a functional yet aesthetically pleasing display solution that enhances the shopping experience while efficiently showcasing a wide variety of hats. My contribution helped in realizing a store setup that aligns with LIDS' brand identity and meets the specific needs of the retail space.

Texas Rangers Power Alley
Experiential Marketing

For the Texas Rangers, I helped design and engineer the metal seating and surrounding shade/netting structure for an interactive promotional wiffle ball field called Power Alley, sponsored by T-Mobile and Toyota. A key challenge was ensuring that the entire setup could be disassembled easily and stored in a small towable trailer, as it needed to be portable for travel to various locations, not just outside Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Assembly

Testing parts for fitment along with placing vinyl printed mesh over each of the black powder-coated steel and pvc tubing pieces of the structure.

Metal Liquor Display

As the lead design engineer this project, I engaged with Bob Lilly Promotions, our client, to develop a cost-efficient liquor display case for brands like Herradura Tequila and Johnny Walker targeted at liquor stores. Given the project's strict budget cap of $100, we initially considered metal tubing but ultimately opted for sheet metal to minimize costs. By leveraging a laser cutter for the production, we successfully adhered to the budget constraints while fulfilling the design requirements.

Developed technical diagrams using SolidWorks for the manufacturing process which then were laid out in AutoCAD for the laser cutter.
